I have been invited to teach a Zentangle summer camp day and an adult Zentangle series at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford, TX. Pre-registration is required so that I will have enough supplies on hand for everyone.

Doss Fun Days Summer Day Camp: Zentangle

This fun Zentangle day is for kids 12 to 18 years old. In this session, kids will get introduced to Zentangle basics, learn special techniques, how to deconstruct patterns to create their own patterns, and complete at least one special project. This day-long workshop is just $30 and includes all supplies. Space is limited, so sign up early.

Doss Adult Zentangle Workshop Series

Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9pm, July 14 to August 4, 2011

This series is for individuals 18 years or older.

Zentangle 101

July 14: Introduction to Zentangle (aka Zentangle 101)
Workshop fee: $35 + $5 for the Zentangle mini kit

In this workshop, participants are introduced to the basics and theory of Zentangle. Participants will learn between 6 and 8 tangles (patterns) and create at least two Zentangles.

This workshop lays the foundation for the remaining workshops in this series. Participation is strongly encouraged. If you can only attend one workshop in this series, this is the one!

July 21: Beyond Basics (aka Zentangle 102)
Workshop fee: $35 + $5 for supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this secondary workshop, participants are introduced to advance tangles and techniques. Participants will learn how to deconstruct patterns to create their own tangles. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.

Zentangle Inspired Loktah Paper

July 28: Zentangle Inspired Loktah Paper Project
Workshop fee: $35 + $10 for supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this workshop, participants will get to put their new-found Zentangle knowledge to work on Nepalese handmade Loktah paper. Special techniques and more new tangles are introduced. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.

August 4: Zentangle Travel Mug Project
Workshop fee: $35 + $15 for supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this workshop, participants are introduced to yet more tangles and will get to use them in creating a personal stainless-steel travel mug. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.

Save $40 when you register for all four workshops; this series just $100 + $35 for supplies when paid in advance.
