Funny how and when we get inspired. Today as I was surfing the Web, can’t even remember what I was looking for, when I stumbled onto some labyrinth patterns. Inspiration hit, and now we have “DL Labyrinth” – DL is the initials of my farm, Dragons Lair. I think it is fitting for this tangle and its endless possibilities. Tangle On! ~Donna

I have started making it a point to read the official ‘Blog Zentangle’ each day. Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, Zentangle founders, always share some sweet nugget with us. Today was a bit reflective in that Maria decided to create a Zentangle using the very basic, often the very first, tangles you learn. It is fun to go back to the basics and see transpires in the process. I decided to follow her lead and not only did I...

It’s been an incredible week leading up to today. I am now, officially, a Certified Zentangle Teacher. This is an exciting time for me. A fellow CZT told me, it is life changing. I believe them.

What do you give the hostess with the mostess? Zentangle in glass!
I went to a housewarming and promotion party today and wanted to take something different. Everyone always brings the obligatory bottle of wine for the hostess, or a case of beer for the host. I wanted to bring something that could be cherished in years to come and hopefully serve as a reminder of a special day. So I created a Zentangle just for my girlfriend and then...

I wanted to create a new tangle using circles. As you can see in this Zentangle, the different variations may have you asking is it a barnacle or an olive? The possibilities are limitless.

I recently made a new friend who also tangles. She lives in Hawaii and often takes snapshots of her work when she goes for a walk. While attending the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens Japanese Spring Festival, I was inspired to tangle, and here my resulting Zentangle. Enjoy!

Several friends have commented that I needed to make bigger works. This is my first ‘large’ Zentangle. Large only in that is is on 6″ x 8″ stock. Traditionally, Zentangle is done on 3.5″ x 3.5″ stock (about the size of a drink coaster). It is meditative and ‘zen-like’ in nature. This work took me some time to complete as I would contemplate each section prior to actually creating it....

My Zentangle Kit arrived today. I have quickly discovered I can’t put it down. While it has been years since I drew anything, I am finding that I am strongly drawn to this art form and am enjoying its relaxing and meditative benefits. You can’t rush through it. You have to be deliberate and almost contemplative with each stroke of pen to paper. The concept is simple: “Anything is possible…one stroke at a...
