New Zentangle Series at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center

No previous art training or artistic ability required!

For people who are convinced they can’t draw, Zentangle removes that barrier. Zentangle’s method also removes any intimidation of facing a blank sheet of paper. With Zentangle, a novice’s work can be put next to a “pro’s” work and fit right in.

Within its “elegance of limits” Zentangle draws from a rich well of our human experience. Zentangle provides a simple, accessible method to allow personal creativity to flow. With Zentangle, all who try it discover they are artists.

Zentangle classes now forming at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford, TX.

My First Zentangle

August 25: Introduction to Zentangle (aka Zentangle 101)
Workshop fee: $40, includes Zentangle mini kit

In this workshop, participants are introduced to the basics and theory of Zentangle. Participants will learn between 6 and 8 tangles (patterns) and create at least two Zentangles.

This workshop lays the foundation for the remaining workshops in this series. Participation is strongly encouraged. If you can only attend one workshop in this series, this is the one!

New Perspectives

September 1: Beyond Basics (aka Zentangle 102)
Workshop fee: $40, includes all supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this secondary workshop, participants are introduced to more tangles and new techniques. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.

September 8: Zentangle in Reverse
Workshop fee: $40, includes all supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this workshop, participants are introduced to more tangles and the technique of using white pen and pencil on black Zentangle tiles. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.

Zentangle Inspired Loktah Paper

September 15: Zentangle Inspired Loktah Paper Project
Workshop fee: $40, includes all supplies
Introduction to Zentangle is prerequisite to taking this workshop

In this workshop, participants will get to put their new-found Zentangle knowledge to work on Nepalese handmade Loktah paper. Special techniques and more new tangles are introduced. Participants will need to bring their Zentangle mini kit for this workshop.
